I used to save left over food from the cafeteria where I worked in college, so I could survive, because I didn’t any money to buy food that summer. I had to borrow money to buy my super expensive college text books. So I can understand what you’re going through right now.

Listen carefully to this; you can change your income significantly and your life by changing your daily habits. You must be willing to change! You must be willing work hard for to make the changes.

It doesn’t take a smart people to figure it out why we go broke. It means that our spending is more than what we earn. People go broke because their expenses are higher than their income!

The first thing you want to do when you find yourself broke is to start writing your expenses down on a piece of paper down to every penny of it. It is called, reviewing your net worth. You want to know how much money in your bank accounts and your wallet!

They know how much food to give to their colony; they know how much food they need, so they can have enough food to eat for everybody in their ant colony. That’s why sometimes; ants will frustrate you, because they will keep coming to your house until they are sure that they have enough supply for every ant in their colony. They will stop coming to get your food when they know; they have plenty of food to survive during the winter.

Listen, your time is the most valuable thing that you and I have! We can trade our time for money by solving someone’s problem. Find what you’re good at and use your time, talents and gifts to start making money for you.

I was good in computers, so I charged students and school faculties if they want me to fix their computers.

Wake up early in the morning and use your day wisely to make money. Have you ever noticed that people who sleep too much and people who watch TV and movies too much don’t have much money? The reason why they don’t have much money, because they are not willing to trade their time for the money they need. They waste their time for something that won’t make them rich. Your time is like the energy in a battery, sooner or later, you will run out of it if you don’t know hot to use it wisely.

So get up! Stop being lazy! The rich and the poor both have 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, they rich don’t have more hours than the poor, but what makes a big difference is how they use up their time to generate wealth!

Go to work an hour early and go home an hour late. You must discipline yourself to work harder and smarter than everybody else! Most people love to come late and leave early, that’s why they are poor.

If you own your own business, make sure you give your customers your best for the bucks! It makes them want to do more business with you in the future. The next time you are tempted to waste your time, think twice!

2. You must learn how to sell!

I used to buy a lot of cheap computer parts on UBID.com and EBAY.com and sold them to students who needed the computer parts. Before I bought them, I asked several students whether they will buy the computer parts from me when I got them. When I had buyers for the products, then I bought them cheap at the auction sites and sell them higher than cost of buying them.

You must be aware of the trend in your school! I remember the day when network T1 connection was popular at our school. I sold network cards like cakes, because back then not every computer had a network card. How about IPOD? Find out how many people own an IPOD and start selling the IPOD case, cover and accessories!

Keep your eyes open toward the latest trend and new things that are going on in your area!

You must learn how to sell. A lot of students got hungry at night, so I stocked up some food in my fridge and sold them to the people who didn’t have a car to go to the store!

Read books and listen to tapes that will teach you how to sell better. Use your mind to think of ways of making money.

Make a DVDs rental in your dorm room! You can buy 100 DVDs on Ebay for $100 and make your own rental place in your dorm room! Charge student $1 for a day to rent the DVD! Make sure they don’t steal your DVD! Keep record of who rents the DVD. 100 students rent your movie, that’s $100/day!

You can even start using the Internet to generate money by selling on Ebay! Ebay is a great money making tool that I am using to these days to generate additional income. I don’t care how good in computers, web design or giving make up, but if you can not sell your skills, you won’t be making money out of your skills. You must learn how to sell and market your skills and learn how to be good at selling.

You see, when you use your mind to think, a lot of ways to make money can come up in your mind and you will never be broke ever again in your life! A lot of people are broke because they never use their mind to think!

3. Invest 10% of Your Money In Skills that Can Help You Create More Money!

When I first came to college, I didn’t know how to do web design and how to develop a web site, but I used 10% of my income to buy books that would teach me how to be a web designer and developer! I took my time to develop my skills to become a web developer! Within a year of learning, I started to build web sites for other people on campus and made higher income than the rest of the students in college.

You must invest in other skills that will help you to make more money. If you like to give make up, well you may want to invest books on how to become make up artist! You can charge people to do their make up and hair for them when they want to go to a party and different special events. I know a guy in college who made his money by cutting hair. He charged $8 for a hair cut while Super Cut charged $15. So people came to him to get their hair cut.

I knew also some students who did house painting for other people in the community on the weekends.

There are thousand of ways of making money when you are broke, you just have to find the right kind of skills for you and the willingness to take action and do it.

4. Exercise, Eat Good Food and Keep Yourself Healthy.

Your mind is the most powerful asset that you will ever have in your life time. Your mind can help you create wealth! So listen to me, “STOP ABUSING YOUR MIND AND BODY!” Eat healthy, exercise, and get enough rest.

I learned that when I feel good, I can think well. I can think of ways of making money when I feel good about myself.

How can you think when you have heat pack on your head, thermometer on your mouth and blanket on your body? When you’re sick, you can’t use your mind to think! So make sure you keep yourself healthy and well!

I remember what one of my martial arts teachers told me about drinking alcohol. When you are drunk! You can even fight you defend yourself! So how can you think of ways to make yourself rich when you are drunk! The best way to be ready for a fight is to be sober. The best time for you to think is, when you are sober. If you like to drink a lot of alcohol, you may want to consider quiting your drinking habit.

Take care of yourself and be good to yourself and your body. Keep your body and mind healthy and well, so they can help you to think well.

5. You must believe that today’s circumstances are only temporary, they will change!

High achievers never look at their situation today; they always see themselves as how they can be in the future. Look, you may think that your situation today will never change. When you are going through a financial trials and challenges, you may feel like you are not making any progress in your life, but believe me, it is only temporary. Try to extract wisdom and understanding from the trials and challenges that you are facing right now. When hard times hit us, our mind will be forced to think.

I got my motivation to work hard when I didn’t have food to eat that summer in college, my stomach was hungry, and I had to eat left over food. I didn’t have a car for 6 years, believe me, it was tough when you had to ask your friends to drive you every where when you need to go somewhere.

I vowed to myself that I will work hard to achieve my goals and dreams. I realized that no body else would help me except myself. I was the one who was responsible for my destiny and life. I was the one who could change my life. I vowed to myself that I would work hard, to have the determination, patience and willingness to change my daily habits, so in the future; I don’t have to eat left over food anymore, I can drive any car I want, and have my own place to live.

If you believe in God, it is time for you to really kneel on your knees and spend time with Him. Pray about it, ask God to bring financial wisdom and prosperity into your life! Don’t be afraid to ask the Lord for a blessing! He is God who created you; He is the God who will give you strength, courage and wisdom to go on! Make a special time for you to talk to God and pray every day!

I believe in you’re my friend, I believe in you! As you sit there right now, I want to see yourself as a special person with a special gift and talent that can be used to get you out of trouble! The best days of your life are just ahead of you! You may not be able to see the days ahead of you! But have faith! Have faith! You can do great things in your life! You can make a difference in your life! You have the strength and power to make your life better! I believe in you’re my friend! I believe in you! Stand up, get up and stand tall! You are gifted with a great mind to think! Your mind can help you way different ways to set you free! Get up and stand up my friend!

Tell yourself right now out loud as you read this repeat this out loud after me “I am able to change my life! I can go through this trial that I am going through, I will stand tall, and I will not be defeated by these trials and challenges! I am special, I am unique, and I believe that the best days of me are just ahead of me! Everything will be just fine! I vow today that I will give my best to work hard for my future! I will not be lazy! I will form positive daily habits today! I will not lie again to myself, when I say I will do it, I will do it! Tomorrow will be a new day, and I will face with confidence, tomorrow will be a new day for me!”

Tip: How do you make $40/hour? When I was in college I lived in a dorm and I noticed some of the guys were lazy to wash their clothes. Listen to this story carefully. So I asked them whether I could do their laundry for them for $40/hour, believe me or not, some of them were willing to give me $40/hour to do their laundry. Some of you may say, "I don't want to do someone's else laundry." I know that, but while the rest of the campus made only $4.25/hour, while I was making $40/hour. It took nine and half hours for everybody else who was embarassed to wash other people's laundry to make $40. Can you imagine how much money you have if there are nine people who want you to wash their laundry! 9 people * $40/hour = $360/hour. The point that I am trying to make is, you don't really need a job to make money! If you only know how to observe other people's needs around you. You can serve those people's needs to make a lot of money.

I could dispute that fact and say it is extremely hard to make money unless you have thought up a brand new idea that no one else on the web has even thought about.

This also is a safety measure, as clients will assume the business is strictly unattached from the residence if they sense no background noise.

7. Emergency phone numbers should be posted in clear view. This includes fire, police, and other emergency numbers.

8. A system of "check points" can be established, whereas a friend or family member can regularly call or enter the building or home, to determine if all is well.

9. An emergency system needs to be in place. Any unwanted visitors or unwanted attentions by others need to be reported completely and thoroughly to authorities, as soon as these instances occur. This is especially true if threats or accusations occur. Business owners do not need to "put up" with aggression or unwanted visits by clients.

10. Common sense is the best detriment to tragedies occurring in a home-based business. Never open the door to strangers, never work alone late at night in a deserted area, never deliver anything late at night to a bad neighborhood, or otherwise put yourself or your family in jeopardy. If something doesn't "feel" right, trust your instincts.

There are many different methods of making an online income. In reality, they are all very similar to the business models you see in the offline world. You can sell goods and services, you can produce products for wholesale distribution, you can sell information, you can sell tools to help people in their own business model, you can sell advertising, or you can provide consulting services.

Do you see a common theme in all of these models? That’s right---to have a viable business, you have to literally provide some kind of a good or service that adds value to someone or something, either online or offline.

I think that when people think about going into business offline, they look for a need in their community and try to fill it. Online, they tend to think, OK, what can I do to make a lot of money? There is a huge difference between the two. Online, I think people really believe that if they put up a web site and sell something, the money will just come in. It is simply not an accurate thought, but I think that just about everybody has thought it at one time or another.

So to create an income online, you must meet a need, just like you would in the offline world. You meet that need by producing, developing, distributing, or brokering a product or service. That is just about it. You will never earn long-term viable income from schemes and scams, no more than a bank robber will earn a long-term viable income robbing banks.

Here are some of the basic business models you can find on the web:

1) Production model. This is a company that produces value by transforming one good into another for online consumption. An offline equivalent would be a shoemaker or a gold mining firm. The online equivalent might be the development of new software or search technology, or the development of online technology that aids in the execution of some of the other online business models.

2) Merchant model. This is a company that specializes in the sales and organizes the delivery of goods and services to an online market. This can be compared to the offline equivalent of a merchant. Some examples online are bookstores, food stores, catalog web sites and other goods and services sales organizations.

3) Advertising model. This is a company that specializes in providing the service of advertising or promotion to other online firms, for example, those firms that operate using the production or merchant model. This model charges these companies a fee to advertise the goods and services provided by the other online business models.

4) Affiliate model. This is a model that resembles the advertising model, but is different in that it focuses on recruiting many individual companies or individuals to do the advertising in a systematic and piecemeal way. Whereas in the advertising model, the advertiser is paid based on the amount of advertising distributed, the affiliate model pays the affiliate marketer when a sale or step in a sales process is completed. This step may be an online visit, a request for more information, or the actual sale itself.

5) Brokerage model. This model is one that compensates the broker for bringing together buyer and seller, usually in the form of a personal, one-on-one introduction. An example of this might be an online auction or a processor of online payments.

6) Information model. The information business model is one in which the company provides information to a specific field or niche market. This information would typically instruct another company or individual on an easier or more efficient method of performing a task, or actually teach the task or the implementation of the task.

7) Subscription model. This is an overlay model, one which is generally incorporated into one of the other models. This model would provide a good or service over a protracted period of time, and provide a guaranteed and generally consistent level of that good or service for a period of time, for example over the course of several months. Two products that fit into this subscription model might be that of online monthly video rentals or services like food or medicines which are delivered on a regular basis by commitment.

8) Utility model. This model operates in much the same way as an offline utility might operate, offering a product that has, through its use, become a necessity and is often tightly controlled. An example of an online utility model would be that of internet access or telephone service via an online network.

9) Community model. This is a business model that focuses on bringing together individuals or companies of similar interest for the purpose of developing relationships and sharing information. Two examples of the community web phenomenon are the recently created Myspace and the older online forum.

When deciding to go into business online, it is important to determine which of these business models most interest you. To which of these models are you best suited? In which of these models are you most likely to be considered an expert, or in which would you have the willingness to become an expert?

What happens when your Internet marketing empire doesn't take off that quickly or isn't that profitable? Yyou feel like a miserable failure. So, then you invest more time and money to get more information, with similar results. Who really gets rich here? The people selling the information on how to get rich. It begins to feel like a hamster wheel in which you run and run and run but never get anywhere.

I've had a virtual online business since 1999, and it's neither quick nor easy. What I've discovered is that some people can exploit a particular strategy for a short time until someone or something shuts them down, and then they're on to exploiting the next newest strategy until it no longer works, and then they move to yet another new strategy. It's tiring just to write about this process!

As I reflect on my 7 years in business, I really wish I'd known then what I know now. Since I get a number of questions and inquiries every week from "newbies", or business owners new to the Internet marketing world, about how to get started in an online business, here's my list of 10 things I wish I'd known about Internet marketing when I started my online business:

1. Niche your way to riches. Finding the exact market that needs what you have to offer is one of the primary keys to success in any business, but especially when you're trying to do business online. Taking a shotgun approach and foolishly believing that "everyone" needs your product or service is the quickest way to failure. You need to be able to identify and describe your niche market, from determining what problem the niche market is actively trying to solve and what they'll pay for (as well as how much they will pay) to what publications they read, what groups/associations do they belong to, and where they hang out both on- and off-line. The more narrowly focused your niche, the better. So, owners of Golden Retrievers is a better defined niche than dog lovers, and executive female golfers is better than women athletes.

2. Acknowledge your expertise. One of the great difficulties of online business owners is their inability to acknowledge their expertise in an area. It took me years to realize that while others did have a higher level of expertise than me, there was a very large group of people who knew less than me -- and it was to those people I could become an expert! And, better yet, they would pay me to learn it so they didn't have to go through the same trial-and-error method I did.

3. Create a content-packed web site. Content relevant and useful to your target market, embedded with keywords that your target market might use to find you, are the magic wands that enable you to be found on search engines. For years, my web site was simply an online brochure with details of my service offerings. It was not until I regularly started writing articles for my target market and posting those to my web site and blog did I see a noticeable increase in both the amount of traffic to my web site as well as in my number of newsletter subscribers. If you've been in business for awhile, you've got a good idea of the problems that your customers face. Your articles can serve as the solution to the common problems and questions of your target market.

4. Build relationships online. Even though an online business is virtual and you meet few of your clients and prospective clients face-to-face, it is still possible to build trusting relationships online. The most important thing to remember is that your personality needs to shine throughout all of your online ventures. So whether you share personal stories about your life or business (these will be very popular with your visitors), or write articles or web site text in the same way you speak, you need to give visitors an experience of what it means to do business with you. You can also use audio and video on your web site as well as photos of you in action in your business. Remember, most people need to get to know, like and respect you before they'll decide to buy what you have to offer.

5. Discover reputable sources of technical and Internet marketing "how-to" information. Online technology and Internet marketing strategies change from moment to moment, and it's tough to keep up with the latest and greatest innovation. You'll need to read lots of ezines and visit lots of web sites each week just to stay on top of things.

6. Create several "stay in touch" devices. An ezine (email newsletter), blog (web log), and autoresponders (series of automated follow up emails) are the quickest and easiest ways to stay in touch with your current clients and to bring prospective clients into the fold. I think the most effective ezines are published weekly -- it gives you one excuse every week to reach out to your contact database. Blogs tend to be attention hogs, so they are most effective as a marketing strategy when you post to them 3-4 times per week. Once you've written the content for a series of autoresponders, they can serve as a personal marketing arm for you, as they can be personalized and give prospective clients the impression that you're writing a personal email just to them. The more "stay in touch" strategies you use, the quicker your prospective client base will get to know you and expect to regularly hear from you.

7. Provide a clear call to action. Web site visitors generally want some direction in what action they should take next. Whether they visit your web site, attend your speaking engagement, read an article you've written, or listen to one of your podcasts, they want to know what to do next to stay in touch with you. The call to action I always recommend is to get people subscribe to one of your "stay in touch" devices, whether that's your ezine, an autoresponder series, or your blog. In most businesses, your contact database is the asset with the greatest value. It's no different in an online businesses, where the the name and email address of your visitor is gold. Make it simple for someone to decide to initiate a business relationship with you -- have your call to action in your brochure, on your business card, on every page of your web site or blog, and in the audio of your podcasts.

8. Immediately create information products. Creating information products, like ecourses, ebooks, CD or DVD series, workbooks, or audio downloads will help you immediately establish your expertise, create multiple revenue streams for your business, as well as give you a good understanding of the problems faced by your niche market. I've been quite slow to jump on the info product bandwagon, as I've just been unwilling to carve out the necessary time to create them. The creation process is time-consuming, but once something has been created, it can be a revenue stream for many years. In my early business years, I didn't think I had any useful info to share with anyone, and now I realize that all the stuff I attributed to "common sense" should have been packaged and sold as information products. So, what info do you think is common-sense in your industry? What format will be most attractive to your target market?

9. Develop a marketing funnel. Creating a marketing funnel of products and services priced from free to expensive, as well as a way to get visitors through that funnel via a marketing plan will give many more people access to your expertise at different price points. Many business owners make the mistake of offering just one thing -- their service -- and miss out on other ways to sell to and educate prospective customers. Brainstorm on other ways you might deliver your expertise to prospective clients -- an ecourse, ebooks, teaching workshops, holding teleclasses, sponsoring mentor groups, etc.

10. Don't expect overnight success. Despite what the television ads might state or what the information products might claim, success in the online world doesn't happen overnight. There will be a few who will spot a profitable trend before anyone else does, but eventually the income will fizzle and they'll have to find another profitable trend. Just like any other business, an online business takes a great deal of time and attention. Some of the tasks can be automated, but you still have to pay attention to what's happening so that you can effectively create your marketing and promotion strategy.

It is possible to make a decent living from online sources. However, to be successful, you'll need to do your research, be willing to invest your time, and persevere when the going gets tough.

Beginning something from scratch is always a challenge and Internet marketing is no different. There is a huge amount of information to learn and for total newbies it can find it tough going in the first few months. I have some basic advice for anyone who is thinking of joining Yournetbiz or any other home business opportunity. Please read on my friends.........

It is very important to find a mentor or sponsor that you feel comfortable with as this will give you the maximum chance of success. This person will be able to provide you with all the support you need especially in the early days when starting out. They will act as a guide to help you in your new venture, holding your hand all the way. If you find someone you think would be suitable, test them first before joining up. Maybe you could phone them to first see if they answer. I believe in first impressions and I think you would know right away if he or she is the perfect match. You could even try several different coaches before jumping in, just to be certain. The reason I say this is so important is that you do not want to become an orphan and this person goes cold on you as soon as you join. I must add this does not happen often but is better to be safe than sorry.

Get out there and get noticed by branding yourself. People want to see a real person, not just some text or a company capture page. Potential buyers want to identify with you, so tell your story. Get out there as much as you can. Make some videos and upload them everywhere to get your own face known.

Build an online presence. Make sure you have a blog out there, which you will update on a regular basis. Write articles, sing up with social networking sites and make friends and contacts regularly. Have a Bio page that explains your story. The Idea is to make yourself visible and to have authority in your niche. This will make you accessible to people interested in companies like your net biz and show that you know what you are doing and talking about.
